Juliet Machado, COVT has been a vision therapist for 20 years, serving patients across the country through multiple modalities of behavioral optometry.  She has been a member of the College of Optometrists in Vision Development (COVD) since 2005 and completed her Certification as a Vision Therapist in 2017.  She currently serves as a member of the International Certification and Examiner’s Board.  In 2021, Juliet was recognized with the COVD International Vision Therapist of the Year award.

Juliet has lectured extensively on the connection between vision and learning, vision and special populations, and vision rehabilitation following brain injury; has presented a 3-day comprehensive course on vision therapy practice and management; regularly lectures to Pacific University’s Master’s in Education program; has presented through the COVD Therapist Webinar Program, and has had the privilege of lecturing on her approach to vision rehabilitation therapy at the COVD annual conference.

Juliet recognizes and respects each individual’s journey and is motivated by the positive outcomes people experience as they develop or rehabilitate their visual systems.  Driven to advocacy, she strives to increase awareness of the need for vision therapy within her community, and by educating her peers she hopes to increase understanding and confidence for a more rewarding experience in the therapy room.
